Japanese Handmade Needle Files Review
On a recent trip to Tokyo I found a small shop specialising in jewellers tools so I couldnt resist buying a few bits.
Comparitively unusual to the standard needle files from F.Dick or Vallorbe that jewellers in the west are acustomed to so I wanted to show closely on video the differences.

How to Adjust New Earring Backs

Make fitment adjustments first as the use of pliers may mark the metal. Once the scrolls are tight but can slide on the post nicely move on to polishing. Stay aware of the delicacy while polishing. Plating will likely change the feel and the scrolls will need another small adjustment to...

So, since your all about diamonds, I'm sure you know very well the history and deceipt behind the rise of the diamond! I'm sure you understand that a diamond is carbon- one of the most common elements on earth. Im guessing you must understand that diamonds are the imposter gem and ONLY started to be considered valuable after an aggressive marketing campaign headed by a close relative of Freud. I AM 100% sure that EVERYONE in the business will claim and hold to that value like its a lifeline...since so much money has already been invested into them. But I would love people to see diamonds are only worth what they are because we were all deceived into believing they are rare and otherwise would be priced considerably lower than sapphires rubies and emeralds. Their true value would hover around the same price as topaz as their main use was industrial. Diamonds weren't used for engagement rings until after the 1920s. Diamonds are not mentioned in ancient treasures. They weren't shipped across seas for royalty. Pirates didn't fight and kill over diamonds. It was gold or silver or rubies or emeralds etc. Because these things have actual value.

That GRA cert is laughable, it means nothing. He bought a poor quality moissy because of that "certification". No wonder he's not nice about that stone. Good quality moissanites still dont get certified. I paid 2K for a high quality 9mm square cushion moissanite, I paid for a custom cut. It looks like a brilliant diamond.

I have used frames with new designs that clamp the blade ends with screws, the way your new saw does. For very fine saw blades I actually prefer to use the cheaper frames that pinch the end of the blade with a small square of metal, rather than the point of a screw. They seem to hold the finer blades batter. I have trouble getting the screw tip ones to hold the blade end securely. I think "coping saws" are actually a tiny bit different, in their blade ends have small pins in them that the frame holds onto. Jewelers blades have no pins.

That rings a bell for me I remember blades slipping out of the grobet when it was new so i removed the screw and paper disced the end and it solved the problem. The screws should be a wider gauge I guess

any saw blade without winged nuts is unusable to me, i dont like the crappy rounded screws or the plastic garbo turn thingys. my two saw frames are easily 50 years old wooden with steel and winged nuts. sure it may weigh 1000x what the new ones do but its a tank that never fails and the weight can be used as an advantage when down cutting

personally i dont like the styling of either of them, but each to their own. the one i use is eclipse brand, just one i found at a recycling centre (eclipse no. 50 apparently). the upright from the wooden handle is aluminium, but adjustable frame is steel, so it does have the problem of being top heavy, which i hadnt noticed till just now, so thanks.... but its really solid despite probably being really old, and cost me a quid, so im happy with it.

When I use the rouge, I don't get the high polish I want. I wipe off the bars with a lint free towel, before I use the rouge. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance.

i like this vid quite a lot actually despite not really learning anything new, its extremely important to adjust the backs to the posts so its not too loose or too tight as major problems can occur from both cases. the companies jus throw the tightly made backs in the tumbler and send em out right away, so they need to be adjusted and lightly polished to be made usable. not sure why the post divit was left out but thats a very important part as well to make sure the back has a place to sit and click in properly on the post.

It's your RUclips channel, do what you want. Don't get pushed aro7nd by idiots. Yes you chat a lot, expect that's because you are stuck at home, not knowing the language well enough to be chatting in groups or finding a job. Now all us uneducated in jewellery making have no idea of the wire gauge you used or the sheet metalsize or the things to take into accountto make the collect. Or what you were doing cutting in where the wires go and the front V channel for the pear. Or the things to take into account when designing for this hard a design sonthe stone sits well. Thing I've found, since you have so many levels on patreon, none of the levels bar the highest paid one fully explain what people get for their support. Seems that only the highest payment gets to see the onger videos. Ive found watching your videos, the l9nger they are the more I have learnt from them. The short videos, not so much as you seem to skip through pretty quickly. You are a jeweller, not a videographer, there's no scripts written for your videos, and of course you are going to repeat things, to ensure you haven't missed anything to help us trying to learn. I wish I could afford the highest paid level on patreon, I can't being on a Disability Pension. Also our rents gone up by $120 a week, and we have be served notice to vacate. In conditions of less than 1% rentals available, all at very high prices even in socio-economic depressed areas were all the thugs and thrives live. Our age is going against us to obtain another rental. We don't know what we are going to do. Keep doing the videos they way you do. To hell with those complaining.

Moissanite isn't a fake diamond, it's a real moissanite just like Lamborghini isn't a fake Ferrari, it's a real Lamborghini. Coffee isn't fake tea, it's real coffee. What's fake is diamond scarcity so they can jack the price up. That's fake and man-made.
